mercaditoWelcome to the Apple Juice new blog! In this blog you will find tutorials and sewing tricks, all the Apple Juice novelties, and where we are going to sell

And as we talk about novelties, I am going to introduce myself. My name is Elena Manzanares and I am from Girona, a small but very nice, Catalunya province. I say nice because we have very beautiful beaches and beautiful mountains where you can practice all kind of sports in both winter and summer.

For as long as I can remember I have loved drawing, designing and making beautiful things with my hands. I don’t know if this comes from heredity: my grandmother was a dressmaker and my great aunt was a craft teacher. Maybe it’s something that I have always had inside.

At 18 years I went to study Humanities in Barcelona without having a very clear idea of what I wanted to be in my future. Then came my studies in Communication and Graphic Design, jobs in different institutions and NGOs and landing in Bolivia to find work in the same area. Once in La Paz, I realised that my ability to create, together with my great imagination, could be more than just a hobby.

I got a little vintage sewing machine (I really love it) and with a lot of patience I began to create all sorts of goodies.

First I designed things for my nephew, then things for my friends and in December 2013 I participated in my first Qh’atu Divas and my first Mercadito POP, with a few products. I have very good memories of them because it was the first time I showed my stuff to the general public and I was very nervous to see if it would be liked. The products were very well received especially because they are 100% handmade and our fabrics are unique here in Bolivia.

Gradually the company grew and we are already selling at some stores in Bolivia, Spain and Mozambique and now, through our website, to the whole world!!
